Croatia Bol Open presented in Milan, Italy

While you are waiting for the press conference in Croatia and the announcement of players, we bring you a story from Italy. Last week we had the honour to present WTA Croatia Bol Open 2019 at TC Milan Alberto Bonacossa, in cooperation with the office of the Croatian Tourist Board in Milan.

This is one of the oldest tennis clubs in the world that was founded in 1893. Their 126 years old courts hosted numerous tournaments and tennis legends, so it was a great honour that this place was the first stop of the promotion tour of our tournament that is going to be held from June 4 until June 9 in Bol at island Brač.

Leading sports journalists from Milan attended our press conference where destination Bol and the tournament were presented. The presentation was attended by Tihomir Marinković, the mayor of Bol, Markito Marinković, TZO director, Feliks Lukas, WTA Croatia Bol Open director, Viviana Vukelić, director of HTZ in Milan and people from Bol that are living in Milan.

"We want to be more open to Italy", said Feliks Lukas, director of the tournament, "because we are neighbours, and because Italian tennis is currently experiencing a truly magical moment. Here you can feel the sporty spirit of great tennis. For those who have never attended our tournament: tennis event at this level and which takes place in Bol, paradise made by nature is a unique adventure you need to experience."

La Gazzetta Dello Sport named us 'the Mecca of tennis', a description that is often used while reporting from Wimbledon. Croatian has conveyed Italian media stories about a 'fairytale location' (una location da favola) and invited sports enthusiasts, 'lovers of white sports not to miss this treat at the very beginning of Croatian summer season'.
